Restoration
A Happy New Year to you! I sincerely hope that in this weirdest of years, you and your family have been able to enjoy some rest and relaxation.
The What’s Good Project has grown so much in 2020, thanks to your support. Thank you. I am beyond grateful.
Because of you, we’ve been able to support these organizations that are doing really great work in Mississippi, Michigan, and Iowa:
Quitman County Public School art program (Marks, Mississippi)
Washington County Work Ready Association (Greenville, Mississippi)
It goes without saying that you don’t need to buy art to support these communities and these organizations, particularly in such a challenging and uncertain year.
To ring in the New Year, I’m taking some inspiration from Whiterock Conservancy. I painted the twin white oak trees (I’m 95% sure they are white oaks, ha!) in Restoration while I was an artist-in-residence at Whiterock this summer. A 5500-acre nonprofit land trust, Whiterock is actively restoring over 125 acres of Iowa’s one common and now endangered oak savanna ecosystem.
Sending you love in these last days of 2020, and may we all experience restoration in 2021!
